At just 17 years old, Zane Okoro made his League One debut this weekend, coming on in the second half for Lincoln City against Shrewsbury Town. The dynamic wide player, originally from Connecticut, USA, has been progressing through Lincoln’s youth system and earned his first senior league appearance following a strong and consistent season.
This league debut follows earlier first-team experiences for Okoro. He made his senior debut on 4 November 2024 in an FA Cup match against Chesham United, contributing to Lincoln’s 4–0 victory. Just eight days later, he scored his first senior goal in a 5–0 win over Manchester City U21s in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, becoming the second-youngest goalscorer in the club’s history.
Zane’s progression is a testament to his hard work and standout performances at youth level. Known for his pace, directness, and quality in one-on-one situations, he has consistently caught the eye throughout the campaign. His introduction to League One football marks a significant step in his development, and we look forward to seeing his continued growth within the first-team environment.
