Charlie Dinsdale has been recognised at Premier League 2 level after a top month for Forum Sports’ young Sunderland attacker.
The midfielder has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for March — recognition that reflects the level he has been hitting week in, week out since stepping up to the U21 squad. It is a significant marker for a player who only signed his scholarship with Sunderland in the last 12 months and who has spent much of the season splitting his time between the U18 and U21 groups.
Charlie’s form has helped drive an upturn in results for the Sunderland U21s, while also helping the U18 side push deep into the FA Youth Cup. To now have his individual performances acknowledged at PL2 level is exactly the kind of recognition that comes from consistency — and there’s plenty more to come this season.
